Shiraz Part 1 The Amazing True Story Of Majid Shirah His Escape From Iran Rabbi Avraham Ochayon
During the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, the Jews enjoyed a peaceful and prosperous existence.
However, in 1979, his rule was overthrown by Ayatollah Khomeini, an extremist Muslim religious leader, who had returned from exile in France. Khomeini placed the country under radical Islamic law, and not surprisingly, some of his first victims were the Jews.
The Jews of Iran felt the ground burning under their feet. Many of them tried to leave the country by various means, but it was a complicated and highly risky operation. Among those who wished to escape was the family of Majid Shirah. The Shirah family lived in Shiraz and wanted to leave Iran as soon as possible – but this was much easier said than done.
This is the first volume in the Shiraz series, based on the true story of Majid's escape from Iran. It is a suspenseful tale of danger and drama, infused with our nation's age-old values: pure, unwavering faith and trust in Hashem, the power of tefillah, and love for Eretz Yisrael.
