Uria Wages a War (youth), Keter, 2006 Uriya Yotzet LaMilchama
Ami Gedalia was born in Kiryat Ono, Israel, in 1952, and studied Jewish history at Haifa University. She is a trained librarian and works in a public library. She has published over 30 books for children and youth. Her book, The Last Witness, is taught in Israeli schools. Gedalia has been awarded the Ze'ev Prize twice (1990; 1995), the Hadassah Prize (2003), an IBBY Honor Citation (2006) and the Trudi Birger Award for Social Involvement (2007), the last two for her youth book, Friendship on the Net.
